9-7-6-5 and 4 strings fretless and fretted basses

Marco Polizzi begins to study music at the age of 13, playing piano and then guitar. At the age of 16 he begins to play bass guitar with Gianfranco Gullotto at C.I.A.C. music school where he studies jazz improvvisation with Claudio Pacifici (saxophone) and Francesco Lo Cascio (vibraphone).
He takes part in several master classes such as: Alain caron (1996), Brian Bromberg and Gary Willis (1997), Micheal Manring (1999).
He takes the diploma in electric bass at CIAC in 1998. In these years he studies also double bass with Silvia Muci and Danilo Bigioni.
1991: he forms "Blu Elettrico", with this band he executes an activity of composition and arrangement of original songs. He partecipates to diffirent kind of musical events and he plays in a lot of roman and provincial clubs doing 150 gigs.
1993: with Blu Elettrico he signes a deal with Silvio Testi.
1996 and 1999: he collborates to some productions with Flavio Paulin (Anima Mia - Cugini di Campagna) as bass player and arranger.
1997: he joins "Officine Musicali" jazz orchestra.
August 1998: he plays double bass in Elba Island with the Cinzia Baldana's jazz quartet during the "MusicaElba" event.
1995: he forms "Quattro in Quartet", a chamber music quartet with piano, cello, electric bass and drums. The quartet was born with the idea of mix together classical, contemporary and jazz sounds playing original musics and arrangements from Morricone, Sakamoto, Nyman, Bolling. With this band he begins to use a 9 strings bass designed by himself (5 string fretted and 4 fretless).
This instrument will prove to be very versatile during the live performances of this others bands.
1998: he collaborates with Raffella Misiti (Acustimantico) to realize original jungle and drum'n bass tunes.
1999 and 2000: he partecipates to the quintet "Combo Jazz" course directed by Francesco Lo Cascio.
May 2000: the "Scuola di Musica Ludovico da Vittoria" orchestra directed by M. Roberto Pregadio invites him to play as soloist in Rome, Tivoli and Moricone.
July 2000 and June 2001: he plays in quartet directed by M. Pregadio (piano).
September 2000: he is in tour with M.Pregadio.
He plays with "Noises" (fusion quartet) since 2001
June 2001 and April 2002: he records the double bass on a cd of the jazz orhestra "Numinoso Ensamble" directed by Stefano Rotondi.
January 2002: he is bass teacher at Liceo Scientifico Newton (Rome)
2002: he partecipates to a mic recording course by Franco Liberati.
June 2002: he takes the Steinberg Teaching Certification
June 2002: Xmas Carols project begins with the intention to propose the xmas classics in a R'n'b/funky key. Xmas Carols record a cd out on Christmas 2004.
2002/2003: he teaches in a recording technics for singers course at CIAC Music School.
June 2003: he joins Zoo Symphony Studio and becomes member.
He is bass teacher at Neuma Music School since 2003
2003: he plays in the show by Pierfrancesco Poggi dedicated to Giorgio Gaber at Auditorium di Mecenate (Rome), Assisi, Arte Todi festival 2003 (Todi) and Salerno.
2003: he is a session-man at XL Studio in Rome.
October 2002: he collaborates with Piotta to compose some tunes. In 2003 he records the cd "Tommaso" (Piotta) out in 2004.
2004: he is in tour with Piotta and he plays also at Primo Maggio Gig in Rome.
2004: he plays in Projecto Heleda by francesco Bennardis. This Project was born with the idea to mix together tango, jazz, funky and drum'n bass.
2005: he records Projecto Heleda's "Roma-New York-Baires" out in 2006 (Club Records)
July 2005: he records as double bass for the "Teatro dell'Opera di Roma" orchestra directed by M. Claudio Cimpanelli
March 2006: he's been contacted by Stefano lamberini and marco Poggioni (Marco Masini) to play in tour with Jessica Morlacchi.
2006: He plays at Valletta Music Festival in Malta
september 2006: he records "El Farol" (Santana) in a tribute album (EMI) with Projecto Heleda.
February 2007: he records for the fusion band "Segnali Acustici".
March 2007: Stefano Frollano ask him to record the double bass for "One more cup of coffee" by Bob Dylan in a tribute album.
July 2007: He plays in the gig at the Monza Autodrome (Marco Masini, Irene Grandi) with Jessica Morlacchi.
